Overview

DICOM Studio is a local-first iPhone application for opening, organizing, reviewing, marking up, and exporting medical imaging files. This policy explains what the app processes and what limited information is handled by service providers.

Medical imaging files

DICOM files can contain personal and health information, including patient identifiers and imaging metadata. Files selected by the user are processed on the user’s iPhone. DICOM Studio does not upload imported examinations, images, annotations, measurements, patient information, study names, file names, or file paths to developer-operated servers.

Imported examinations are copied to the app’s protected private storage and excluded from device backup by the app. They remain available until the user deletes them or removes the app.

Exports and Apple services

When the user chooses to export an annotated image, the app requests add-only access to Apple Photos and creates a PNG in the photo library. Apple Photos and iCloud may then process that exported copy according to the user’s device settings and Apple Account choices. Users are responsible for ensuring exported images are handled and shared lawfully.

Subscriptions

Purchases, free trials, billing, cancellation, refunds, and restoration are processed by Apple through StoreKit. DICOM Studio receives the product and entitlement information required to unlock Pro features. The developer does not receive payment-card or bank details.

Adapty is used for subscription operation and measurement. It may process purchase history, subscription state, an app-installation identifier, and basic app/device information. DICOM Studio configures Adapty without advertising-identifier collection and without IP address collection, and does not assign an account-level customer ID.

Product analytics

Firebase Analytics is used to understand coarse product interactions, including app launches, onboarding completion, paywall presentation, import outcomes, and opening the viewer or MPR workspace. Firebase may process an app-instance identifier, basic app/device attributes, coarse regional information, and these named interaction events.

DICOM Studio does not send DICOM files, images, patient information, study names, file names, file paths, annotations, measurements, search text, or other medical content to Firebase or Adapty. Analytics is not used for advertising personalization or cross-app tracking.

Retention and user controls

Users can delete examinations from the local library. Removing the app deletes its private local data. Subscription management is available in Apple subscription settings. Service-provider records are retained according to their applicable policies and operational requirements.

Children

DICOM Studio is not directed to children. Users must have lawful authority to access every medical imaging file they select.

Changes and contact

This policy may be updated when the app or its services change. The effective date above identifies the current version. For questions, use the DICOM Studio support page. Never include DICOM files, patient identifiers, medical images, or other sensitive health information in a support request.
